In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a ghost which was known by the name of Andreas Kresmer is better known as The Little Red Man. In the Single Brother’s House in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, located in Old Salem Village And Gardens, this house was once the home of one of North Carolina’s famous ghosts. The building had originally been a place in which unmarried men lived in the Moravian settlement (A group of religious people). A strong tradition that Moravians followed is keeping excellently descriptive records; because of this, there are very descriptive records on how the ghost had come to be and many other records that explain some encounters the Moravians have had with him.
In 1950 a group of dedicated people decided to start preserving Winston-Salem and created Old Salem Inc. to preserve the ways of Winston-Salem. The group was determined to save the buildings for future generations. They kept and filed the records that the Moravian's had and repaired buildings over the years being careful to keep the same old look to them so they are unique and show the lifestyles of those during their time. The significance of mentioning the incorporation is to notice that they saved and preserved the Single Brother’s House in Winston-Salem and they have been successful in preserving Winston-Salem's past.
